You will be called upon to sustainably harness and boost the highly promising export potential of products from the country’s fisheries and aquaculture industry. With over 34,450 members and 10 different functional associations, the MFF plays a key role in implementing the Myanmar Fisheries Export Strategy, which is targeting broad-based international market development. The MFF is also working closely with the Myanmar Sustainable Aquaculture Programme (MYSAP). This is geared towards developing the aquaculture sector, which is important for national food and nutrition security, and increasing production in aquaculture, not least to generate income from export earnings.

Your tasks will involve:
• Compiling trade information for companies to cultivate new and existing sales markets
• Helping exporters to formulate and implement export strategies and providing support with developing sustainable certification systems
• Devising and implementing a concept for setting up an association for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) involved in aquaculture
• Supporting public-private partnerships (PPPs) along the aquaculture value chain

Your profile:
• University degree in business administration (foreign trade) or a commercial qualification with a focus on sales, exports or marketing
• Many years’ professional experience in marketing products from the fisheries and aquaculture industry
• Knowledge of the European market requirements for fishery products
• Experience of the South-East Asia region preferred
• Fluent business English
• In addition you have the citizenship of an EU or EFTA member state for reasons to meet the criteria of the Integrated Experts program; UK passport holders are eligible to apply

What we offer:
• Varied tasks, which you will be expected to carry out self-responsibly in an international environment
• Cooperation with other development cooperation organisations
• Professional preparation for your assignment abroad
• Local employment contract as an integrated expert until 31 October 2021
• Attractive monthly top-up payments in addition to local salary and social benefits

Note: the position is currently available; there is no deadline for applications.
